I'm E. I'm an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, investigating non-canonical questions and the syntax/pragmatics interface using data from Scots varieties.

Until recently I was a postdoctoral researcher on the Scots Syntax Atlas project at the University of Glasgow.

My research is broadly in dialect syntax, generative grammar and its interfaces. I am interested in documenting the rich morphosyntactic microvariation found in contemporary Scots and English varieties in order to address broader questions about how language works and how it changes.

I have worked on verb raising, agreement, demonstratives, negation and imperatives as well as non-canonical questions. I'm additionally interested in developing new methodologies for tapping into dialect syntax resources.
