I am a postdoctoral researcher on the Scots Syntax Atlas project at the University of Glasgow.

I recently defended my PhD, entitled "Questions, biases and 'negation': Evidence from Scots varieties", at the University of Edinburgh, which was supervised by Caroline Heycock, Jennifer Smith and Ronnie Cann.

I am interested broadly in generative grammar and dialect syntax. My PhD investigated non-canonical questions at the syntax/pragmatics interface using data from Glasgow Scots and the Shetland dialect of Scots. I am also particularly interested in the syntax of imperatives, processes of morphosyntactic change, and methodologies for dialect syntax research.

I am the chair of the Linguistics Association of Great Britain student committee.
